I’m Carolyn Poole, a therapist with 30+ years of experience helping people with trauma, PTSD, and more, find relief.
EMDR helps your brain finish processing overwhelming experiences so the memories lose their grip and you can move forward—without retelling every detail. I’d be honored to help you navigate trauma, PTSD, or whatever challenges you’re dealing with.

What Is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) pairs brief focus on a troubling memory with bilateral stimulation—gentle eye movements, taps, or tones. This helps your brain reprocess the experience so the emotional charge drops. You keep the facts of what happened, but the panic, shame, or startle response eases. EMDR doesn’t require detailed retelling, and we go at a pace that keeps you safe.

What Sessions With Are Like
We move at a pace that keeps you safe, steady, and in control. I track your nervous system closely, and you can pause anytime.
Mapping & preparation. We clarify goals, build grounding skills, and set a plan.
Reprocessing. Short sets of eye movements or taps while you notice what arises. I check in often and keep it tolerable.
Closing & follow-up. We end sessions calm and contained, then review progress.
For a single-incident trauma, many people feel meaningful relief in 6–12 sessions. Complex or long-term trauma usually takes longer. We’ll tailor the plan to you.
